Why Mission Music

Mission Music has always had one goal; to give back in a way others feel heard and seen. In the summer of 2018, Blake was at a local show and heard horrifying stories about band members struggling to get by. In his own research, he found that not only are 98% of the music scene artists undiscovered, but 8 out of 10 musicians struggle to pay rent and maintain their music career. Furthermore, 6 out of 10 artists maintain two to three jobs in addition to their music careers. Blake thought to himself, “something has to change — something has to be done”, and so Mission Music was founded.

Blake set out a goal to raise funds for artists that are struggling and to enhance the music scene by creating a proper platform.

OUR MISSION

Our goal at Mission Music Foundation and vows to artists is to nurture and care for the artists and community as a whole. To that end, we focus on the key aspects:

  • Musically

  • Academically

  • Emotionally

  • Mentally

  • Physically

  • Spiritually

  • Financially

We will do everything in our power to promote and maintain safe and healthy behaviors. Creating an environment where all feel welcome and heard in the scene.
